I wanted to let you all know that there is a new VRML game out there
that you should probably check out. It has been optimized for most to
enjoy. All that you need is about 32 MB of RAM, CosmoPlayer 1.0 and
Netscape 3.0X. The site can be found at:

http://vrml.sgi.com/

...and go to "The Terrible Samaritan" (by Cicada Interactive) link.

The coding has been designed to load scenarios on an "as-needed" basis
(e.g., when the player approaches them). Download times are significantly
reduced using this method. You should try it out.

This game incorporates Java/VRML to give you some nicely modeled
landscapes and objects (camels, crowns, fallen angels, swinging bridges,
etc.). You can even save your game for later...let me know what you
think!

Do you think that VRML gaming will take off on the Internet? Do you think
that The Terrible Samaritan is a good example of VRML gaming? Have you
seen other VRML games on the Web? Please let me know...I appreciate it!
