Hi

You will need to be more specific in your needs, what sort of app,
environment are you planning to create what platform , how complicated
will you environment be, how interactive, how much texture , do you
need true 3 d sound , special effects, behaviors, collision detection
, Head sets, Pinch gloves etc.. etc.. etc.. what is your budget, what
tool do you have or need to create the environments components,

It is really horses for courses and your needs and limitations (
price, hardware etc ) may drive you towards one or two particular
products.

We currently use Paradigms Vega and Audio works and SGI's Performer,
Multigens MuliGen's Pro and SmartScene, obviously with this
configuration is SGI bound, apart from the modelers Multigen Pro and
Smartscene which are now also NT compatible. We achieved all of your
requirement with the above software.

But if you can give more details of your requirements and restrictions
then perhaps a more useful answer can be forth coming
