This is a brief reminder about the workshop on Interfaces for Wearable
Computers that will be held at the VRAIS 98 conference in Atlanta,
Sunday March 15th.

The goals of this workshop are to:
Identify common problems and research directions in wearable
interfaces.
Discuss interface requirements for collaborative wearable
applications.
Identify promising research areas in the field of wearable interfaces.
Publish a report summarizing the workshop findings.

By presenting this workshop in the VRAIS setting it is hoped that the
wearable/mobile computing community will benefit from the interface
experience of the VR community and the VR community will be exposed to
possible new research areas.

You can attend the workshop as either a presentor or observer. Both with
be able to participate fully in the workshop, but presentors will
present a 5-10 minute position paper at the beginning of the workshop to
stimulate discussion throughout the day. Attendees are also encouraged
to bring their own wearable/mobile computers to demonstrate innovative
interface ideas.

Attendees must register for the workshop on the VRAIS 98 website,
http://tularosa.eece.unm.edu/eece/conf/vrais/, if you are also
interested in participating as a presentor please email a two-page
position statement in text format to vr-wear@media.mit.edu. Position
statements should focus on interfaces for wearable computers and/or the
use of wearable computers to support collaboration. Presentors will be
selected on the basis of these statements.

Please contact me if you have any questions about the workshop or need
any further information.
