Subject: Re: TECH: Human modeling systems

Boeing currently uses two human model systems that I know of. The
first is referred to in-house as `CATIA human model', because it is a
(semi-)interactive application that runs under the CATIA 3D CAD system
that Boeing uses for most commercial airplane design.

A contact point for this would be

The second is a version of the SAFEWORK human model that we bought the
source code for. Bruce Scovill and I modified slightly and integrated
the code into our in-house design visualization system. Henry Sowizral,
Karel Zikan and I have also developed an extension to the VR system
shown at SIGGRAPH that imports SAFEWORK body geometry and allows
participants in the VR system to inhabit and control these bodies.
My contact info is show below.
SAFEWORK is produced by Les Consultants Genicom, in Montreal.
