The HIT Lab's GreenSpace project, sponsored by Fujitsu Research Ltd., enables multiple participants to inhabit and interact in real-time in distributed, networked virtual environments. The most recent phase of the project, GreenSpace II demonstrated the effectiveness of virtual environments in an architectural design review. An earlier phase of the project, GreenSpace I, demonstrated the first trans-Pacific virtual environment, between Seattle and Tokyo. The virtual environments demonstrated in the GreenSpace project featured sound, dynamics, behaviors, and tools which facilitate architectural design review. These features are not supported in VRML 1.0, but the environments have been captured as static worlds. For more information, please see our GreenSpace Web site.

These files can also be accessed from the GreenSpace Gallery Room (VRML 1.0, 1.86MB) of the HIT Lab Gallery.
