I was wondering whether the perception of depth is satisfactory. I haven't started building my AR system yet, but I am thinking of going with video see-through stereo glasses instead. Does anyone have any suggestions on the comparison of overall user experience of mono optical see-through towards stereo video see-through? -- ====================== Kasim Rehman, PhD Student Lab. for Communincations Engineering, Cambridge University Engineering Dept W:01223 766515 M:07976 903459 ====================== ______________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, write to ARforum-unsubscribe@l .......... |

The Worlds Marketplace where you can buy and sell practically anything keeps getting better. From consumer electronics to movies, find it all on eBay. What are you waiting for? Try eBay today. http://www.bcentral.com/listbot/ebay ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Kasim, we have tried to use the Sony Glasstron (LDI-D100BE) in optical see-thru-mode in mono. You are right, you cannot really use an OST system in mono because of the misperception of depth. The user has to focus either on the monoscopic virtual world or on the (stereoscopic) real world. For this reason we are prefering to use video-see-thru techniques when running in monoscopic settings. That works pretty well (besides the well known limitations of VST). Hope this helps.
