Subject: | using one video input between two seperate programs under win XP? | ||
Dear all, I want to take a video input and feed it to two different programs on the one machine. I have not done a lot of experimenting yet but I assume that a video input,a firewire camera for example, can only be picked up by one program at a time? I want to have two programs, one is a commercial program (so it is not practical to modify it at all) and one is home-made sharing the same video input. Is it possible to echo the video input from one program out to another software video device in windows? (XP I mean). If so, it might be best to use another program to take the video input and make two 'vrtual' video devices for the other two programs to look at. At least then the latency would be the same for each one. I don't need to have frame-by-frame sync by the way. I thought that one quick'n dirty way to do it might be to just use an analog camera and feed it through both a firewire converter and a video capture board - not so pretty on a laptop though! :) any ideas welcome at this stage rod. |
