Stereo on a laptop

Folks,
   I have a wierd pblm. My graphics card (GEForce4 Go) supports stereo,
but my laptop (Toshiba drivers don't). Is there any way to do stereo
rendering in plain software. I'm not looking for high end stereo..Just
something basic that works.
