Hi,

i would like to buy the PYRO 1394 FireWire-WebCam from ADS Technologies (

).

If anybody could tell me his hands-on experiences with  this camera I would
be deeply grateful. If you have further informations about other FireWire
Cameras you are using please accord them to me.

Can anyone recommend firewire cameras that work happily under windows in 
the more recent direct-x environment at 640 x 480?

I have three Pyro API200 here and they are good in picure-quality. The 
absolute drawback of them are the crappy WDM drivers under Windows. 
Somehow my machine is always screwed up when I use PyroCam drivers, 
DirectX 8.1a SDK on a Windows 2000 SP3 machine. The machine crashes 
hardly with not even a minidump. (Anybody a hint for this?)

Total different picture on Linux and MacOS - running smoothly there, no 
crashes through the driver yet.
