Subject: | ARToolKit GUI for user interaction? | ||
We are very interested in determining if anyone has developed a GUI that enables users of ARToolKit-based software to design and render AR scenes? We are using ARToolKit in a research setting and are much interested in a simpler interface. Our hope is to find an easier interface for ARToolKit (i.e., one that does not require writing lines of code and compiling from a command prompt). We are searching to determine if there is a FrontPage or Dreamweaver type interface for ARToolKit. Dan, Please check out DART, our AR toolkit built into Director. http://www.gvu.gatech.edu/dart We just release a first "beta" ... it still has some bugs (we found a bunch working on a demo last week, and are doing another demo this coming week), but we'll be posting pretty frequent updates for a while. It's largely stable (the aformentioned bugs are in some pretty obscure places). Enjoy, and let me know if it's useful. I am working on something along those lines.=20 http://www.mis.atr.co.jp/~rodney/designAR/index.htm It's still a long way from being released as a product though. You can = see the registration and latency are not great at present, but the method = for designing and building worlds is pretty cool I think. You can author procedural and parameterised animated models with dynamic behaviors on-the-fly while the system is running. I never write any C++ (often = wish I did, but I'm not disciplined enough to take the time out from life).=20 Rod. Sounds great, Dan. I think DART will be very useful to you, if you have a multidisciplinary team who knows (or wants to learn) Director. If we can be of any help, let us know (if you use it, please join the mailing lists and ask questions there.) On Oct 30, 2004, at 2:13 AM, Dan Macchiarella wrote: > Thanks Blair.
