Subject: | Which capture card to buy? | ||
Does anybody know of analog capture cards that work right away with the DirectShow ARFrameGrabber of previous ARToolKit versions under Windows? We are looking for an analog capture device (PCI-card or USB2) that captures full resolution PAL (720x576 or 768x576) at 25 fps with little or no delay. I already tested an Osprey 100 card but it didn't build a valid filter graph, not even in GraphEdit. Then I tested an old Videum card but it doesn't work either. Getting images from USB or Firewire cameras is no problem. It is just that we need analog input now. Any hints are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Leif |

Leif, Not a direct answer, but is an analog to DV bridge out of the question? I have used one in the past with some success. Phil. Hi Phil, a DV bridge might as well be okay. Do you mean sth. like this product: http://www.insanely-great.com/reviews/dazzle.html ? Our point is to have _low latency_ in the image. I noticed that having a camcorder connected via Firewire gave us a latency of a couple of frames. Is that also the case for a DV bridge? Has anyone ever successfully tried one of those USB2 analog capture cables and can recommend it? I had the Dazzle Digital Video Creator 90 in my hands but didn't dare to buy it. http://www.pinnaclesys.com/ProductPage_n.asp?Product_ID=2252&Langue_ID=7 Leif On 21/01/2005, at 13:47:04 +1300, Philip Lamb wrote: > Leif, > > Not a direct answer, but is an analog to DV bridge out of the question? > I have used one in the past with some success. > > Phil.
