low frame rate .. SOLVED !

First of all thanks for all your replies,
and sorry for taking up the bandwidth..

I finally found a solution to the problem I had.

It might be completely trivial, or mentioned somewhere, but in case someone
else has the same problem I thought I'd post the solution I found:
going to properties of simplvrml.exe in windows, I had to switch the
compatibility to 256 colors, and that's it !!
