Subject: | [ARToolKit] Problem: | ||
Hi Guys, we need the AR Toolkit for a Computer Science Study project. We downloaded the latest stable version 2.7.x and use the patch. Then we commented the line 699 in video.c out. It compiles (on Linux: Ubuntu 8.4 64 Bit, XUbuntu 8.4, Ubuntu 9.2). But when we start it with Video4Linux2 we get the following error: ar2VideoOpen: Error setting video format (22) Gstreamer works (with the export ... command line) but the picture is buggy (2 windows / 1 is buggy with with jumping markers etc). The Windowsbuild wont compile. Someone can help us? Bye Rashid PS: The hitlabzforum are very slow to enable users after registration.... _______________________________________________ ARToolKit mailing list ARToolKit@l ................. http://lists.hitlabnz.org/mailman/listinfo.cgi/artoolkit |

Sorry friends, I wanted to reply to the group mail.But it was just single address. Sorry about that. Do you have any chance of using ARToolkit in Visual C++ (2008, ... 6.0)? It works for me. But, 2008 has some problems in some computers. There are run time exceptions. 2/4 works fine for 2008. 6.0 is ok for anything. Sorry Juan. Hi friends, I thought this might help u. Sorry if I'm disturbing u with unwanted junk mail. This location will be referred to below as {ARToolKit}. (2) *Unpack the DSVideoLib zip into {ARToolKit}*. Make sure that the directory is named "DSVL". - It's already inside ARToolkit folder. (3) Copy the files *DSVL.dll *and *DSVLd.dll *from *{ARToolKit}\DSVL\bin* into *{ARToolKit}\bin*. (4) *Install GLUT*, following the instructions in the README.win file inside the GLUT zip. See http://www.hitlabnz.org/forum/showpost.php?p=332&postcount=12 for more detail on how to install GLUT on Windows. *Installing GLUT: * 1. To install GLUT, use winzip, or some other unzipping utility, to decompress the archive. Once you have done so, you should have extracted the following files: glut.dll - This file is not available in above zip file (On 24th December, in my own machine, the simpleTest gave seven *COMPILATION errors*. The next step is to move the files into the appropriate directories so Visual C++ can find them for linking. Since you are using Visual Studio 6, these locations would be as follows: glut.dll glut.h $(MSDevDir)\..\..\VC98\include\GL glut.lib glut32.dll %WinDir%\System glut32.lib $(MSDevDir)\..\..\VC98\lib Place the *glut.h* file into the *C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98\include\gl* directory. Place the *glut.dll* file into the *C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM* directory. Place the *glut32.dll* file into the *C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 *directory. Place the *glut.lib* and the *glut32.lib* file into the *C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98\lib\ *directory. COMPILING/INSTALLATION: (This is from the README.txt inside the glut-3.7.6-bin.zip) o Precompiled versions of the DLL and import library can be found on the GLUT for Win32 web page mentioned above. o Microsoft Developer Studio 6 workspace and project files have been included in the source code distribution. To build the glut dll: First, open Microsoft Developer Studio. Then, select File -> Open Workspace and find the glut.dsw file in the file dialog and double-click on it. Finally, select Build -> Build glut32.dll. When the build is finished, it will copy: glut32.dll to %WinDir%\System, glut32.lib to $(MSDevDir)\..\..\VC98\lib, and glut.h to $(MSDevDir)\..\..\VC98\include\GL. Additional workspace files have been included in the progs, test and lib directories to build the progs, tests and libs respectively. If you were to use Visual Studio .NET, these locations would be as follows: Place the glut.h file into the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\Vc7\PlatformSDK\include\gl directory. Place the glut.dll file into the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. Place the glut32.dll file into the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 directory. Place the glut.lib and the glut32.lib file into the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\Vc7\PlatformSDK\lib\ directory. (5) Run the script {ARToolKit}\*Configure.win32.bat *to create include\AR\config.h. (6) Open the ARToolKit.sln file (VS.NET) or ARToolkit.dsw file (VS6). (7) Build the toolkit. Build Output: calib_camera2d.exe - 0 error(s), 4 warning(s) Gave this error .... <http://sites.google.com/site/ucscprabhash/building-artoolkit-in-windows-using-visual-c/msg.bmp?attredirects=0> Then I downloaded msvcp71d.dll by searching the web and put it to system32.
