In the fall of 1994 and winter of 1995, CEDeS personnel developed a simulation of a proposal for affordable housing designed by David McKinley, FAIA. The housing development, sited in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood, is a cluster of homes made of pre-cast concrete frames with infill panels. The frames can be assembled rapidly and in a variety of configurations, enabling a designer to adapt the layout of the units to many different site conditions. The simulation features a number of such configurations, and the interior of one of the homes is developed to demonstrate a possible alternative for furniture layout.
