Starting Lightscape

In order to start Lightscape you must have a unix shell open on the Indy desktop. To open a unix shell go to the menu in the upper lefthand corner of the screen and select "Desktop" and on the pop-up menu select "UNIX SHELL". Inside this unix window you type, "lscape". In a few moments a dialogue box appears to start Lightscape, select "START". This will open lightscape. Note that the shell window in which you start Lightscape is now "busy" running this application and cannot be used for anything else. If you want to look at your files you will need to open another shell window.

When you work on a project it is best to start Lightscape in the directory where you will be working. For example if you have a project to model a dog house you may have a project directory called, "doghouse". If you create a .dxf file for your project you will want to save the file in the "doghouse" directory. So just prior to starting Lightscape, change the working diretory until it is the "doghouse" directory, and then type, "lscape".
