James Philips is a vestibular and oculomotor neurophysiologist. He currently directs the Dizziness and Balance Center at UWMC and the Clinical Oculomotor Lab at Children's Hospital. He also teaches in the Department of Psychology.
James's research, funded by NASA and NAAR grants, focus on vestibular and oculomotor development and adaptation. He is involved in vestibular prosthesis research at the HITLab.
Through his collaborative work with the Lab he wishes to further develop technology for sensory substitution and augmentation.
In his spare time James enjoys sailing and reading.
