Mark Fauver

Mark Fauver is primarily a scientific instrument designer and initially worked on a wide variety of projects from solid state physics simulations to sonoluminescence. He later switched to more biologically-oriented research where he built instruments to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of muscle contraction. His experience in microfabrication of devices for biological research was a focus since 1993.
Mark has a B.S. in Physics and M.S. in Biomedical Engineering.
In recent years Mark has focused on microscopy, especially three-dimensional imaging methods. His long standing interest in music and physics lead to him developing novel surround sound systems for recording and playback.
Mark, along with Eric Seibel received a Washington Technology Center grant to develop the fiber scanning technology.He is currently involved with Optical Projection Tomography for Early Detection of Lung Cancer.
Since working at the HIT Lab Mark and his team have generated a remarkable number of intellectual property - an average of two patents per year.
Mark has a passion for music and sound recording. He is also a keen rock climber.
